At Embedded Interaction Lab (EI Lab), Department of Design, IIT Guwahati we are committed to revolutionizing the world of education by creating a captivating and immersive metaverse that fosters collaboration, innovation, and learning. By leveraging the power of virtual reality, we aim to create a metaverse that engages students' curiosity and creativity, fosters their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and inspires them to collaborate and communicate with peers from diverse backgrounds. Our vision is to build a virtual environment that empowers students aged 13 to 18 years old to engage, explore, and grow in a boundless educational space. We are seeking a talented and creative Virtual Architect to help us design and bring to life the virtual architecture and environments that will define our educational metaverse.
As a Virtual Architect, you will be responsible for:
Developing and designing innovative virtual environments, architectures, and spaces within our educational metaverse.
Collaborating with our interdisciplinary team of educators, UX designers, and developers to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience.
Utilizing cutting-edge tools and technologies to create stunning, interactive 3D models and environments.
Ensuring that the virtual environments align with our educational goals and objectives, while also fostering an inclusive and accessible learning atmosphere.
Researching and staying up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in virtual architecture, environment design, and metaverse development.
Participating in iterative design processes, incorporating user feedback, and refining designs based on usability testing.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
Establish that you can think of out-of-the-box ideas in creating virtual spaces, environments, and architecture
Proficiency in 3D modeling and design tools such as Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, SketchUp, or similar.
Strong understanding of spatial design principles
Preference for candidates with a good understanding of user experience, and usability considerations in virtual environments.
